A few days ago, my husband and I were driving back home from running some errands, when the radio anchor of a popular Christian radio mentioned the H word!
Quite frankly, I think this word should be outlawed in the Christian community but it’s not about what I think, it’s about how God feels when we do not separate light from darkness, holy things from unholy things.
The radio host was talking about Halloween. Of course, it’s October and “Christians” are not being left behind the Halloween craze. It amazes me how there isn’t a clear dichotomy between the church and the world.
When the Bible clearly teaches us to not be conformed to this world ( world here stands for age). The reason it’s important to know that the word as used in this passage means age, is because world can refer to people, system of order or evil. But when you say age, it is all encompassing. It is referring to the specific workings of the devil per dispensation. For this age/dispensation, the devil’s major device is deception; blurring the lines between light and darkness.
I believe that one of the greatest achievements of the devil is deadening our spiritual sensitivity and making us touchy, feely people (that is being cerebral & emotional). The logic usually goes like this; I feel like God will not say this or do that!
God is spirit and the spirit realm is governed by laws not feelings.
Actually for women, this has been an age old battle that started from the garden of Eden, where satan got to use our senses to violate Gods’ law.
This is because he knows that a woman, completely aligned with the will of God carries a seed that will bruise his head so he goes on the offense by using deception through her senses to lure her into destruction.
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it (Genesis 3:6).
It is still this deception that is at work today, that makes many Christian women open the door to demons in the guise of Halloween. It doesn’t matter how many resources are out there warning women and telling them of the horrors’ of this demonic gate; but because she is deceived, she invites demons into her household to influence and torment her family, especially her children. Leading them to destruction just like Eve.
The sad thing is that many of these demonic oppression have a long gestational period, where you may not notice any changes until later in life. Most times when it is too late. A perfectly OK child grows up and starts manifesting all types mental illnesses, rebellion, drug use, sexual perversion etc., and we chuck it up to life! No! demons are involved and Halloween is one of the gates they come in through.
The levity to which we approach spiritual things surprises me. It feels like we think satan is our friend or that he is here to play or that maybe his not as bad as we are led to believe.
I have news for you, he is WORSE! He hates you, he wants to steal, kill and ultimately destroy you in hell.
Somehow I think the church missed this memo in the book of revelation that says;
Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” (Revelation 12:12).
Satan is not playing because he knows his time is short and he wants to take many people with him to hell.
You might have been led to think that you can use Halloween as a means to evangelize and win souls, as I have heard some people say; you have been deceived. You cannot use demonic strategy to adorn Gods’ kingdom. “Know Ye not what manner of spirit ye are of? (Luke 9:56).
Light and darkness CANNOT mix.
When it comes to our God, the end does not justify the means, He is as interested in the means as He is of the end.
My charge to you is Awake Awake O Sleeper!!! Your adversary, the devil is going about like a roaring lion seeking whom the devour. Make sure it isn’t you or your household.
You may ask me, how do I awaken? It’s first by acknowledging that you are deceived, then repenting from every part you’ve played by partaking of Halloween and its sort. Ask God to teach you TRUTH. Then make the bible your favorite book to read.
The reason you need to first repent is to acknowledge wrongdoing and to tell God that you are sorry. It also shows a humble heart before Him.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up (James 4:10).
Lastly, make prayer the most important aspect of your life, so that deception falls away and never returns.
