Since the entire premise for this blog is to help women become extraordinary as intended by God and to expose the deception of this age, it is expedient that I begin my very first post by defining what it means to be an extraordinary woman and why it matters in our ailing society?
It is no secret that our society is going down hill, from an epidemic of severe self-centeredness to moral decay. Are we doomed to succumb to this decline?
Your answer may be, not much! And you are right, if you are considering the question from one reality when in truth, there are two realities; one being our perspective and the other (which is the ultimate) is God’s perspective because He is the Creator of all.
For too long, Christian women have allowed the world set the standard of who an extraordinary woman is. For unbelievers, these standards make sense because they have no reference point to use as a guide. But it is not so for you in the faith.
Before I carry on, it is important to state that our fathers arms are always open and ready to welcome anyone that decides to run to Him. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done, as long as you are willing to let go of your sin that leads to death and embrace the life God has for you.
Back to the matter on hand. The world has its standards, but they do not apply to believers, this is because the only legitimate and authorized person to define who an extraordinary woman is, is the One who created her in the first place. Until you realize that everything created is intended to fulfill a purpose, then the simple truth I’m about to share may elude you.
If we know this fact from daily life, that everything created is intended to fulfill a purpose then it is only reasonable for us to agree that God is the ONLY ONE that can say who an extraordinary woman is.
Pretty straight forward right! Except it’s not; this is because the flesh is at war with the spirit (Galatians 5:17); For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
Because of this enmity, the flesh cannot perceive the things of the spirit therefore it resists it.
Regarding what makes a woman extraordinary, we have all been sold a lie.
My intention in writing this blog post is to put both realities side by side of what the world praises as an extraordinary woman vs who God says an extraordinary woman is.
By doing this, you’ll be able to choose the reality you want to embrace.
The World’s Reality
An extraordinary woman is someone who is special, possessing qualities that are greater than those of an ordinary woman. Common measures include; Ambition (always finds a way of making it to the top of the list). Perseverance (usually used in the context of success as the world defines success). Authenticity (Ha! Another catch phrase sold to us to mean; do or say whatever you want without consideration of others). Bravery (another lingo for strong and independent subtly telling woman it’s OK to be domineering even in marriage). Compassionate and empathetic (I’m sure you know this one, constantly thrown around because it appears good without actually being good, it usually means making others feel safe and valued on the premise of accepting everything and anything even if it opposes our faith ). Does not judge (gotta love this one, usually means allow people do whatever pleases them and never saying anything to the contrary).
These are a few I could come up with but I’m sure there are more.
Lets now contrast them with who an extraordinary woman is, according to God.
God’s Reality ( Proverbs 31 Woman)
An extraordinary woman is not one that is special with special abilities because all of God’s creation is special. The qualities that make one greater in the kingdom of God, is not of how ambitious or independent you are, but how much of a heart of service you possess.
Matthew 20:25–28
Jesus says, “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave”.
According to God, an extraordinary woman is known by her noble character; which means, she is submissive to her husband, enterprising (this means ensuring she isn’t idle), ensures her home and family are well cared for, wise (meaning she understands the things that are most important and keeps them in view), charitable, respectable (meaning she has self-control), good counsel proceeds out of her mouth, her praises primarily comes from members of her immediate family before those of outsiders.
Ultimately, an extraordinary woman is one who fears the Lord. And that is what makes her truly Extraordinary.
Here is the truth, this world’s reality pierces women with many sorrows, leaving us chasing after the wind. No real feeling of fulfillment, and the so called “success” which is the celebrated reward, offers momentary satisfaction. While God’s reality reaches beyond the physical, it nourishes us in such a way that satisfies our innermost longings and gives us REST in this world. On top of that, the reward is eternal.
The reason it matters to understand God’s expectations for us as His daughters is so that we can be women of light showing other women the truth, and governing the next generation of young women on what real strength and beauty looks like. If we don’t make a clear distinction, we will raise up a generation that will be busy adopting and adorning the kingdom of darkness, thinking they are serving God.
Like with everything, God always gives us a choice (what a good God He is), to choose His reality and enter His rest or choose our own reality and be ready to weather the storm that comes with that choice.
I pray this day that you will choose wisely.
Blessings

Hi Ogo,
I really liked your blog, and I pray that other women will also read it. You are such a blessing from the Lord and I pray that our Lord will bless you immensely Love you my sister. Do you think eventually you might do a podcast and have live people on it and ask them questions?
Thank you so much my dear sister for your kind and encouraging words. Regarding how this work will evolve, it is as the Lord leads.
Thank you so much for this blog. The
Contrast between the world’s view of an “extraordinary woman” and God’s view is the difference of night and day.
One walks in darkness, the other walks in the light of God’s ways. This blog reminds us of how God sees us, when we choose His ways! EXTRAORDINARY!!!!
Yes Cheryl, the light of God truly makes a difference. Reminds me of this verse, Matthew 6:22, which reads, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light”
Well written. God’s way is best and lasts forever. We can please His heart by walking with Him and do through Him the extraordinary things He has planned for us to do together. Thanks, Ogo.
Absolutely! God is reminding us of His ways. It is a privilege to be a vessel used by Him to bring this reminder.
